Jeff Goldblum spoofs death reports

If you caught last Friday's edition of Today, you may have seen entertainment guru Richard Wilkins reporting on the tragic death of Jeff Goldblum, who supposedly died after tumbling off a cliff while shooting a movie in New Zealand.

The only problem? Goldblum is still very much alive and well. Whoops...

He spoofed Wilkins' gaffe via an appearance on The Colbert Report, whose host Stephen Colbert insisted that Goldblum had died even though the actor was present in the studio.

"I'm not dead!" said Goldblum, explaining to Colbert that he wasn't even in New Zealand at the time of his alleged demise.

Colbert maintains that Goldblum has in fact passed away, playing the excerpt from Today as evidence.

"Wow... I guess I really am dead," a visibly shocked Goldblum laments after watching the footage.

He then delivers his own eulogy, praising his acting abilities ("Jeff Goldblum's performances combined the muscularity of Brando, the pathos of Streep, and the musky sensuality of a pride of baboons") and his sexual prowess ("I cannot overstate how amazing Jeff Goldblum was in bed").
