Single Black Female

Monica is a young host of one of LA's top morning shows. Reeling from the death of her beloved father and the breakup she just suffered, she's ready to focus on moving forward with her life, and channelling all of her energy into getting the new hosting gig on the afternoon talk show at her station. She gets a new assistant, Simone, a beautiful biracial woman who is new in town and so excited to be supporting Monica. They become close quickly, with Simone moving in next door, and engraining herself into Monica's life. But underneath Simone's sweet exterior lies a woman who harbors a dark secret, and is determined to become closer than close to Monica, whether she likes it or not! As time goes on, and Simone becomes more and more enmeshed in Monica's life, Monica starts to pick up on the cracks in Simone's shiny facade. As she tries to pull back from Simone, Monica and those around her begin to fear that it may be too late - and even worse, that Simone may have had something to do with the death of her father and collapse of her relationship! Monica decides to sever ties with Simone once and for all, however, Simone has other plans. Will Monica get her life back, or will Simone succeed in taking over Monica's life for good?
