So You Think You Can Dance topless scandal!

The perky young stars of So You Think You Can Dance aren't as clean-cut as they seem.

Dancer Penny Higgs has graced the pages of the latest issue of Zoo magazine, appearing all but nude in the raunchy lad's rag.

On Dance, the 25-year-old cheerleader has implored voters to "embrace the Penny"... which they might indeed do in the wake of the revealing photo spread.

"These photos prove that Penny has talents that go way beyond dancing. They are bound to get a whole heap of young guys tuning in and voting to keep her in the show," boasted Zoo. "If she stays in the show another week, we'll run her as our covergirl next week."

According to the Daily Telegraph, producers of the hit reality show were not worried about how the pics might impact the show. "We would have been concerned if she'd done it without telling us but they're old shots," a producer told the paper, saying the photos were taken 12 months ago. Take a sneak peek:

With its focus more on the dancing and less on the contestants' personal lives, So You Think You Can Dance has historically been free of scandals. Big Brother contestants are more likely to model for Zoo: former housemates including Krystal Forscutt, Bree Amer and Bridget Stavuruk have all appeared in the mag.

So You Think You Can Dance airs on Network Ten on Sundays and Mondays at 7.30pm.
