Everyone hates Glee: ratings down, concert tour cancelled
Is the end in sight for Glee?
Not song long ago Glee was one of the hottest shows on TV. How the mighty have fallen!

The New York Times reports that Glee's US ratings have reached their lowest numbers ever, and declining steadily every week: in the last two weeks, 24 per cent of viewers seemingly abandoned the high-school musical-comedy.

"In most cases, shows that face that kind of sharp drop-off do not recover," concludes the Times.

Glee's prognosis grew bleaker over the weekend when producers scrapped plans for a concert tour during the northern summer. For the past two years the cast has toured the States lip-syncing to singing hits from the TV show, but in 2012 it's likely there'll only be a one-off charity concert.

The Golden Globe-winning series is yet to be officially renewed for a fourth season, but if it does come back — which it probably will — it might be without stars including Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith. Their characters are due to graduate high school at the end of the current third season, so their futures on the show aren't guaranteed.

In Australia, Glee now airs on Friday nights — which isn't exactly the hottest night of TV.
