Jerry Seinfeld himself has noticed the connection, pointing out to Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall that her infamous character, sex-having-a-lot-of-it publicist Samantha Jones, is more or less the equivalent of Seinfeld's eccentric neighbour Kramer (Michael Richards).
"I always felt like there was a certain similarity, and I mean this in a good way," said Jerry during his recent guest-hosting stint on the US breakfast show Live with Kelly, where Kim was appearing.
"Sarah Jessica [Parker] and I were kind of like the hub of the wheel," Jerry explained to her, "and then you had these other eccentric characters, and you [Kim] were kind of the Kramer of the show."
"You're right!" laughed Kim, happily accepting the comparison.
That leaves Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis — aka Sex and the City's Miranda and Charlotte — to fight over which one gets to be the George and which one gets to be the Elaine (Jason Alexander and Julia Louis-Dreyfus)...
