The Herald Sun reports that Murphy plans to make Glee like a real high school, where students graduate and are replaced by a fresh class — and that's why he recently introduced Chord Overstreet's character Sam to the show, to start the process.
Farewell, Finn! Au revoir, Rachel! Catch you later, Kurt! (Etc.)
"Every year we're going to populate a new group," Murphy says. "There's nothing more depressing than a high schooler with a bald spot."
Which is a bit rich, given that several of the show's teenage characters are already played by actors approaching their thirties cough Cory Monteith and Mark Salling cough.
