My Kitchen Rules' 'Spice Girls' shock viewers with 'rude' antics

The fourth season of My Kitchen Rules kicked off last night, and some big characters have already emerged.

Sydney best friends Jessie and Biswa, who call themselves the "real Spice Girls", were painted as the series "villains" at the first instant restaurant, held by Victorian contestants Kerrie and Craig.

Jessie and Biswa got some of their fellow diners offside when they bragged about their cooking abilities and refused to finish their meals.

"I just can't eat anymore, I'm going to puke," Jessie whispered to Biswa at one point.

Jessie complained that she doesn't eat tomato, eggplant or capsicum, taking just a nibble of the entrée of roasted vegetable tarte tatin.

Later, when judges Pete Evans and Manu Feildel asked which team thinks they'll end up on top after they've all cooked in their instant restaurants, the "Spice Girls" didn't hold back. Check out what Jessie said in the video above!

Queensland brother-and-sister Jake and Elle also had a fair share of catty moments, with Jake even telling South Australia's Lisa "game on, moll". Looks like a few people are hamming it up for the cameras!

Fans on social media made it clear what they thought about the most outspoken teams of the night.

"How rude of the 'Spice Girls'! Going to someone's house and not attempting to eat the food served! So what if they don't like vegetables? Don't they know how to be gracious? Hopefully they don't give low scores because they don't like this or that food item!" one fan wrote on the official My Kitchen Rules Facebook page.

"The 'Spice Girls' were put into the show to spice things up clearly and I think they are rather entertaining ... as for the brother sister team I was NOT impressed at all," another wrote.

"Do you think the producers from #MKR pick these people on how much the public will want to hit them with the car?" a fan wrote on Twitter.

"If you say a dish was 'horrible' just because you hate common vegetables YOU ARE NOT A FOODIE #mkr #takeyourpickofvillans," tweeted another viewer.

In an interview on the official MKR website, Jessie hinted that she's prepared for a backlash.

"We're straightforward. Like, if you don't take us with a pinch of salt you will probably hate us," she said.

"We're quite upfront about how we feel about things. Like, we're quite opinionated."

My Kitchen Rules airs from Mondays to Wednesdays at 7.30pm on the Seven Network.
