The Good Charlotte frontman had fans panicking when he tweeted one word this afternoon: "Sacked".
Fans immediately jumped onto the 33-year-old rocker's mysterious tweet, but Joel kept mum on the matter despite comments from his 710,000 followers.
"@joelmadden why did you get sacked?" one fan wrote, adding a moment later, "@benjaminmadden why did Joel get sacked?"
The Nine Network has quickly quashed the idea that Joel has been "sacked" from The Voice.
"We're not sure what Joel was referring to, but it's not The Voice," a Nine spokesperson told the Sydney Morning Herald.
"He's still very much in contract negotiations [to return as a judge on The Voice season two] right now."
Joel is currently preparing to perform at the NRL grand final in Sydney this weekend, and will appear on the AFL Footy Show on Thursday.
