The Shire cast have become overnight sensations for all the wrong reasons, criticised for everything from being fake to not even being from the Shire.
But just who were they before we knew their names (and the weird ways they spell them)?

A treasure trove of pre-Shire pics have emerged online, and they reveal more about the series than Network Ten would probably like...
A photo of Gabby and Mitch, looking very much together, was uploaded on June 4 this year. Well, if the show's set during the summer, then it's safe to say that by the end of the 13-episode series, they're going to get back together.
But if the show was filmed more recently, then they never broke up... 'Dramality' indeed.
Whichever the case, it's not a good look for Ten, who've been criticised about the show since they announced it (and the criticism only intensified once we all saw it).
People have been asking, just how staged is The Shire? Very, it seems. One source has opened up exclusively to The FIX, revealing that a Shire cast member was being filmed receiving a physiotherapy treatment at her Double Bay centre (so close to the Sutherland Shire!), one of the workers there was forced by producers to repeat his line a whopping 20 times!
And let's not forget they reportedly built fake clubs to film in...
